We all know someone or are that someone that have said "I'm just too busy." Too busy to go workout, to meal prep, to live a healthy lifestyle. Well guess what, those are just excuses we have formed in our minds to excuse ourselves. By no means am I saying you are not busy or trying to take away all the hard work you do daily. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is hard enough on it's own and when you add in a full time job and or family and other obligations it can begin to seem impossible. So, I totally understand the saying "I'm too busy" Hell, I've said it myself. But the good news is there are simple tricks that we can do daily that can help us incorporate "healthy stuff" into our actual daily lives instead of postponing it till we feel like we have the time for it. So, let's dive in!
I'm sure we have all heard this but, PACK YOUR LUNCHES AND SNACKS!
This simple trick or habit can make such a big difference in the long run. And honestly, save you some money. It doesn't have to be complicated: Tuna, fruit, sandwiches, salad. Keep it simple, but healthy. It will keep you full throughout the day, save you money, and your body will thank you!
DRINK WATER!
I know for a lot of people water isn't their favorite beverage, but our bodies need it. It's easy to go to the vending machine or the break room and pick up that can of soda that is packed with sugar, but don't do it! Want to know a simple trick to drinking more water? Carry a bottle with you everywhere you go. That's it. A sip here, a sip there and before you know it the bottle will be empty and you will not only feel better and have more energy throughout the day, but you are actually giving your body what it needs. After all, 60% of the human adult body is water. According to H.H. Mitchell, Journal of Biological Chemistry 158, the brain and heart are composed of 73% water, and the lungs are about 83% water. The skin contains 64% water, muscles and kidneys are 79%, and even the bones are watery: 31%. So, Drink up!
Lastly, FIT YOUR WORKOUT IN.
I know, you are probably saying "BUT I'M TOO BUSY!" So this is for you.
Skip the elevator and take the stairs. Go for a walk or a jog in the morning, at lunch, or in the evening. Go to the gym on your lunch break or do a quick home workout. Workouts don't have to take up hours. Aim for 30 minutes a day of exercise. Plus, there are apps out there that give you perks per every step you take, track your exercises and movements throughout the day, so if you need some motivation download one of these apps and earn some perks for just simply exercising and living a healthier life.
